Sunday & Monday, 6 – 7 September 2020. This morning, Philip Rawlins of Resthaven Guesthouse showed us a hidden gem at the top of Matatiele, about 2000m above sea level. A hidden Mountain Lake with a little fisherman’s cottage for overnight stays. Philip can show you many sites in the area that will take your breath away.
30Km outside of Mount Fletcher, we saddled up to make our way to Vrederus Wild Trout Farm. Leon got an opportunity to get a feel for the gravel bike that was sponsored by Hattons Cycles PMB and Giant. Arriving at our accommodation at Vrederus Wild Trout Farm, with host Juan-Marie Naudé, we decided to braai and prepare for the following day’s 50km ride into the valley – anticipating some of the most spectacular scenery in the country.
We are one week into our journey and close to Rhodes. Slightly ahead of schedule. It has been a tough week. Everything hurts. Even our ears 😊.
What a feeling to know that we are supported all the way from Howick on day 9 of our PHAT journey for Tourism and Hospitality in SA. The day sponsorship comes as a welcome gift from a beautiful and dedicated lady in the Hospitality Industry, Kelly Laing, who sells the best Lemon Meringue you are ever going to taste. Thanks again Reagans Coffee & Gift Shop.
This week we turn the wheels to our fundraising efforts a little more than usual, and to do so, we initiated some exciting competitions on our facebook page. We hope that our followers will take part and share with their friends and family across SA and the rest of the world.
We would not be able to do any of this, had it not been for the support and financial backing of our sponsors, and those of you who have made donations via our website. Please continue to do so. Thank you very much for putting your compassion and kindness in motion.
THANK YOU TO ALL OUR SPONSORS, ACCOMMODATION SPONSORS, AND FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL DONATION MADE. WISH YOU WERE HERE!
